On the corner of Pennsylvania and Fulton Avenues, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church hosts its annual Strawberry Festival.
Food for sale: Breakfast items, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, strawberry shortcake with ice cream & whipped topping, fresh-squeezed lemonade, soft drinks, bake table and more.

Joining us this year will be SHA CHART Emergency Response Vehicles, Maryland State Police Resident Troopers, Frederick County Fire Prevention Royalty, “Gear UP” Recruitment personnel, and tons of activities for Children of all ages! Food is available for donation.

Steam Train Excursions and Jesse James Day

Steam returns to WSRR! Experience the exciting sights, smells and sounds of steam for three weekends beginning May 18th! Ride behind a real 90-year-old, coal-fired steam locomotive, the restored Jeddo Coal Co. #85 (aka MACK) Be sure to have your camera ready for some memorable photos. We’ll have two open flat cars behind the steamer, plus two enclosed cars and the caboose. Departures at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM each day. Note that you may not want to wear your Sunday best because the steam locomotive can shower a little coal dust and water at times. Daytime excursions (1 hour and 10 minutes): adults $16, seniors $15, children 1 – 12 $13. Reservations are recommended.

Run for the Books 5K
The first Annual Run with the Books is hosted by Friends of the Walkersville Library and Deborah Wallace Allstate Insurance. Participants will run on paved pathways that meander through the grounds of Heritage Farm Park.
